Delete your MeetClara account
How to ask us to delete it
Email privacy@meetclara.org with the subject “Delete my account.”
To protect your family’s stories, we’ll send a one-time code to the email address on your MeetClara account — never to whoever wrote in, since anyone can type someone else’s address. Reply with that code, and we’ll delete the account within 30 days.
If other family members share a loved one’s stories with you, we’ll contact you before deleting anything, so you can decide together what happens to them. If you’re part of another family’s circle, this can take longer while we make sure their stories stay safe — we’ll keep you posted.
Signed in with Apple and chose “Hide My Email”?
Write to us from any address and tell us. We’ll send the code to your private relay address, which Apple forwards to you.
What gets deleted
Your account and profile. For loved ones you set up, we’ll confirm with you what happens to their recordings, transcripts, stories, notes, photos, and schedules — including whether other family members keep access — before anything is deleted.
What we keep, and for how long
- Encrypted database backups roll off within 30 days after deletion.
- A record of who played which recording, and when, kept only in pseudonymized form — it exists to protect the recordings.
- Aggregated, non-identifying metrics, which contain no personal data.
- Our service providers’ own logs, kept under their terms (see our privacy policy).
